The Big Tomato Comedy Festival is San Diego’s only comedy festival built specifically for comedians who are serious about improving their craft and advancing their careers.

Hosted at Mic Drop Comedy San Diego in collaboration with Big Pine Comedy Festival, this intimate, professionally produced festival places comics directly in front of working industry professionals (club owners, bookers, producers, and managers) who are actively invested in developing new talent.

Every accepted comic performs in a focused showroom setting and receives written, individualized feedback on each set, along with a personalized evaluation packet from our visiting industry members. Participants also receive exclusive Cliff Notes summaries from all festival workshops and panels, ensuring that the education continues well beyond the stage and the fest.

In addition, comics will have the opportunity to participate in guided writing round tables with professional comedians and writers, as well as receive an individualized 1:1 professional consultation. Big Tomato Comedy Festival is intentionally designed to strengthen both your material and your career … in real time.

Beyond performance and education, participants receive accommodation discounts, daily complimentary “family meals” with fellow performers and industry guests, and structured networking opportunities that foster meaningful, lasting professional relationships.
